Working remotely.. what is the normal?

I work for a company a few states away. I went there to this company a few times to get in training. I get paid well for what I do. I love my job and the company I work for. Recently I asked if I could turn in my cell bill and my internet bill as expenses. Just asking for maybe them to pay 1/2 of the bill. I was rejected. Is there any way I can recoup the costs of these two bills at any time for my taxes?
