Why can't people realize that racism will never go away?

I mean I'm not saying it is right but it will never ever go away. The only way to even remotely make it disappear is to just grow a sense of humor and laugh at it. Maybe it's because Im white that it is easy to get over it but to be honest when it just comes to normal everyday people it's the minorities that are the most racist( especially black people) from what I've experienced. But they also complain about racism the most. "Humor is the best medicine" is not just a random saying so why don't people utilize it and act on it?
