Did Pujols make a huge mistake by not signing with the cards before the season started?

His slugging% is nearly .200 points lower than his career average and he is now hurt. No way any team will give him $300 million at this point. Compare his numbers this year to A-Rods in 2007. Not even remotely close. Albert has never had a year as good as A-Rod's 2007 season let alone this year.
